Tillamook County Wellness and Tillamook Estuaries Partnership bring you Part 4 of Four Seasons Of Foraging! Throughout the year we will co-host 4 events highlighting the unique foraging opportunities coastal Oregon provides.
Join us and local native plant expert Asa Skinner from Tillamook Estuary Partnership’s Native Plant Nursery on Whalen Island for an afternoon learning to forage and about local ethnobotany! This workshop will introduce students to the basics of finding and identifying berries. Huckleberrys are known to be ready to harvest from this area at this time of year but there are no guarentees!
Special Instructions to access the event location: There is free parking by the vault toilets.
Please be prepared to walk about 2 miles on a trail. Hiking boots or ankle supporting footwear is recommended. There are toilets at the entrance. This event will happen rain or shine! Please be prepared with cold weather gear or rain gear depending on the forcast.
